<p dir="ltr">This project is conducted by Yan Zhang and supervised by Gavin Brown and Jason Stephens.</p><p dir="ltr">The project examines the degree to which there is alignment or discrepancy between assessment policy and practice between the formal college-based instruction and the internship workplace instruction. Data are collected in Guangdong province of PRC and focuses on post-secondary polytechnic vocational and technical education. The project used structured topic modeling to examine policy statements about assessment practices in workplace and college environments. </p><p dir="ltr">The first formal output is the attached conference presentation which can be cited as: Zhang, Y., Stephens, J. M., Brown, G. T. L. (2024, July). <i>An Examination of School-Based and Work-Based Assessment Practices at China’s Tertiary TVET Institutes</i>. Paper presented to the biennial meeting of the International Test Commission, Granada, Spain. </p><p dir="ltr">The PPT on Structural Topic Modeling is a presentation Yan Zhang gave to the lab group about how the STM machine learning mechanism works.
