Drawing on 20+ recent peer-reviewed publications produced by Ngā Ara Whetū affiliated academic, the submission identifies and contextualises a range of climate-related risks and vulnerabilities across NCCRA’s seven domains. In summary, the synthesis highlights three overarching concerns: (1) indirect and cumulative stressors across ecosystems, (2) the erosion of adaptive capacity in social-ecological systems, and (3) fragmented governance structures. Ngā Ara Whetū urge the Commission to integrate these insights indeveloping a systems-based, equity-oriented national risk framework.</p>
