Plant and Food Research conducted a quantitative survey of the Chinese population to determine the extent to which the themes arising from prior qualitative interviews were represented in the population
In addition to exploring lifestyle and demographic differences between Condition and Control Groups, the following specific themes were also investigated:
• General health and importance of being healthy
• Barriers to a healthy lifestyle
• Healthy eating habits
• Access to information about health and wellbeing
• Trust in foods and beverages with health claims
• Use of medicines, multivitamins and supplements
• Interest in functional foods
• Food safety
• Travel and cooking as hobbies
• Digestion and intestinal problems
• Smog and air pollution
• Wellbeing and exercise
