This lecture was presented at the 6th psychometric summer school held in the Higher School of Economics, Moscow, in August 2019. The lecture was presented by Prof. dr. Gavin Brown, The University of Auckland. The lecture describes different ways to ascertain the number of factors in a data matrix and points to using the difference in x2 and AIC as ways to identify a model that fits the data better.
