Slides and recording of a presentation at LIANZA 2021 conference on 9-11 November 2021.

Abstract:

The COVID-19 pandemic provided good opportunities for Libraries and Learning Services to transform its approach in the provision of services to postgraduate research, teaching and learning with a new triple–blended eLearning model, i.e. a new sustainable research service approach for research, learning and teaching. This presentation outlines the new approach which was based on previously established eLearning initiatives for a core first-year engineering course, including online face-to-face workshops, targeted course assignment drop-in sessions; and a research skills resource hub in Canvas for follow-up support. This presentation will also cover the different technologies and tools used for making the online workshops interactive, and how a successful collaboration with Faculty Academic and Professional Staff led to this approach replacing several time-intensive in-person workshops.

This new delivery model has increased our capacity to facilitate large numbers of students for three postgraduate courses at once, making it a more sustainable and scalable approach.
