Thalia Babbage: Exercise training and chemoreflex sensitivity: endurance trained athletes versus untrained individuals

Heightened chemoreflex sensitivity is present in several disease states. At present, therapeutic approaches are limited. Exercise training has many well-known health benefits and may affect chemoreflex sensitivity. This study explores the effect of a history of endurance exercise training compared to sedentary lifestyle on chemoreflex sensitivity in young, healthy adults.
