Teigan Tarapi: A Smoking Gun? Alternative ways to obtain DNA profiles from cartridge cases

Determining whether two massively parallel sequencing technologies can obtain DNA profiles from touch DNA on cartridge cases for forensic use. These technologies specifically target the whole mitochondrial genome and nuclear SNPs - two genetic markers that are more likely to be found in highly degraded DNA samples.
