My PhD rangahau involves analysing wastewater from 21 Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTPs) around Aotearoa to identify and quantify the prostate health biomarker, Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA). PSA has been identified (for the first time globally) and will be quantified to compare PSA levels in each region in PSA mass loads (µg) per capita. An important part of this rangahau is making this data freely available to the public to initiate a kōrero in the community about prostate cancer, its symptoms, and getting tested. This isn't our data. He tāngata katoa.
