To address decarbonisation in the process sector, integration of renewable energy into industrial sites is vital. Grid integration is promising, however not as stable as needed, due to the intermittency of generation and volatility of prices. Hybrid utility systems are a promising solution, where a combination of energy sources are used in a combined system, allowing for more stable energy supply and potential to engage in demand response. This work uses a simulation-based approach to explore potential systems for both design and operations, using case studies in the dairy industry.
