Lauren Hemara: Understanding the genetic basis of how plant pathogens cause disease

<p dir="ltr">Do plant pathogens require all their effectors to cause disease, or just a few? Effector proteins help pathogens invade their host, extract nutrients, and suppress immunity. Psa is a recent pathogen of kiwifruit with many effectors, providing a unique opportunity to understand how host selection shapes pathogen evolution. </p><p>This poster was uploaded for the SGS Research Showcase 2023.</p>
