Metabolic dysfunction is on the rise and increases fracture risk later in life. Preptin is a novel peptide co-secreted with insulin and positively affects osteoblast cells. High-fat diet decreases both trabecular and cortical bone volume fraction. Preptin knockout had no differences of bone loss compared to wildtype.
