Shipment of live crustaceans is a costly exercise underpinned by metabolic imbalance. Looking to nature we see many examples of species coping with similarly stressful conditions through hypometabolic states. By borrowing from these species we look to induce such states in our species of interest, thus improving shipment outcomes.
