Dairy processing wastewater from the Dissolved Air FloatationDAF process offer potential for biogas production, aiding greenhouse gas mitigation. DAF process generates sludge rich in FOG, proteins, and organics. Challenges for anaerobic digestion (AD) include high organics, odor, nutrient imbalances, dewatering issues, fouling, low C:N ratios, pH imbalance, and foaming. Characterization is vital for tailoring AD solutions.
