Emily MacFarlane: Measuring Ocular Lens Water and Protein: Developing a Raman Confocal Microscopy Method

A method for measuring bound and free water content using Raman confocal microscopy is being developed. These measurements will aid in the understanding of protein/water changes that occur during cataractogenesis.
