<p dir="ltr">Given the importance of Perna canaliculus to New Zealand’s aquaculture industry, and the challenges posed by environmental fluctuations and stress along the supply chain, this study is to develop an optimal pre-treatment that lowers the mussel’s metabolism, helping to decouple them from external disturbances during handling and better prepare them for long-distance live transport, so that fresh mussels with better quality can be provided.</p>
