Crowding, synonymous with popular tourist destinations, affects place perception and tourists’ experience. Since consumers make decisions and adapt behaviours based on preconceived notions, perceived crowding emerges as an important indicator of experience quality. The study focuses on the influence of prior knowledge in negotiating perceived crowding for improved tourism experiences.
