Alison Talmage: Developing a Handbook for Therapeutic Choirs through Practice-Based Action Research

My practice-based action research investigated choirs for adults with acquired neurological conditions. Stroke, Parkinson’s, brain injury and dementia affect communication and socialisation. Therapeutic choirs can help. Through pragmatic data collection and analysis methods, I developed the VOCCAL Framework (Vision, Outcomes, Conventions, Communities, Administration, Leadership) and a handbook for choir facilitators.
