Suzette Jackson: Te Wāhi Whangai: Co-creating a culturally responsive data collection method

<p dir="ltr">Te Wāhi Whangai, (a place of nurturing) is an innovative data collection method co-created by PhD student Suzette Jackson and Kaiako Raranga Simi Paris (weaving teacher). Part of a doctoral project exploring the journeys of wāhine with substance use disorders during their six months at Te Whare Taonga, an integrated program for addiction and parenting.</p><p dir="ltr"> Six one-day Te Wāhi Whangai wananga gatherings took place at Papa Taumata (Higher Ground). Here, Kaiako and Kairangahau (researcher) collaboratively provided a secure environment for mama (mother) and pēpi (baby) to learn raranga and share their transformative journeys.</p><p>This image was uploaded for the SGS Research Showcase 2023.  </p>
