Subin Rahman: Transitioning towards recovery- shelter approaches for the long term in post-disaster scenario

The forced displacement of people has always been a major talking point and situation of concern in the humanitarian aid sector. My research area lies in the post-disaster shelter recovery, an overarching issue of displacement. More often, after immediate relief measures, the affected communities become confined to interim shelter solutions into longer period of uncertainty. The transitional shelter concept can be a better approach towards recovery but has had its own shortcomings which this research is trying to address and understand it in from a multi-dimensional aspect which is the key area of the research.
