Qun Ma: Professional Identity: Your Weatherproof Umbrella

I am looking into who early childhood teachers are as professionals in China, from education policy and teachers’ perspectives. My initial policy findings show that teachers are required to wear multiple hats, such as play facilitators, caregivers, mentors, family liaisons, and role models. As shown in this slide, all these beautiful professional hats are integral to this big umbrella, namely a teacher’s professional identity. This weather-proof umbrella can validate teachers’ work and further empower our younger generation, and our future.
