Philip Bradley: A Boards Eye View
Individually case studying four Auckland secondary school boards using mixed methods and social network analysis, this image encapsulates a thesis which examines the relationship between informal social networks of school board members and school board performance. Data were collected through an online survey, meeting observation, and focus group sessions. Participants were queried on their board’s effective performance using evaluation indicators sourced from the New Zealand School Trustees Association and Education Review Office. Individuals then provided details on the advice, positive energy, collaboration, friendship, encouragement, and leadership received from others in the group. The influences of personal worldviews were also considered.
