My research examines the experiences of refugee background youth adapting to the New Zealand society, and this artistic illustration represents one of my research findings. The haunted house represents refugees experiencing traumas during transition, such as their experiences of staying in a deserted house where refugees saw ghosts at night. It also represents them telling their trauma stories to their friends, and it increased public awareness of the refugee crisis and community life appreciation in New Zealand. I created this piece of artwork to build rapport with refugee background youth communities. NOTE: Shree was planning to get this model created through a 3D Printer (however lockdown meant that she was unable to do so).
