The Reconnection Stories tool helps you explore your positionality and create and share a personal story about your connection to yourself, others, and the world around you. This tool builds on the themes identified in the previous Reconnection Rituals template, encouraging you to transform these themes into a short video, like those that could be shared in social media.

Positionality is the concept of understanding and reflecting on one’s own social identity and perspectives as they relate to the topic or context at hand. It recognizes that an individual’s background—including factors like race, gender, socioeconomic status, education, and cultural experiences—shapes how they view the world and interact with it. By understanding positionality, participants can approach situations more mindfully, respecting the diversity of experiences and perspectives in collaborative settings. It’s a helpful tool in co-design and participatory work, where being transparent about positionality encourages empathy, honesty, and inclusivity.
