Arne Bruns: Into the fishs eye

There is brief, gentle beauty inherent in engineering invisible to most but uncovered by an artistic eye. Just as the sensors I am developing give fish robots an eye into the flickering flow patterns within the dark world of the deep sea.

This image from my first publication captured the simplistic, clear designs needed for answers while showing the tenderness and respect for the pursuit of understanding of the natural world. It’s a reminder to strive not just for functionality but also elegance in research as it opens up unexpected pathways for thought and makes abstract topic accessible to everyone.
