This report was conducted to investigate the feasibility of setting up a
national probability sample online survey panel for academic research purposes.
The report reviews existing panels, both internationally and nationally, and reviews
practical considerations for setting up a national probability panel study,
including the pilot study, sampling, response rates, attrition, size, and
accessibility issues. The report concludes that setting up a national
probability sample online survey panel is feasible, with a comprehensive pilot
study and careful consideration of areas reviewed within the report itself.
