This image represents my research into The Uncanny Dataset, an experimental system that redefines machine perception through artistic and computational collaboration. The figure holds an Uncanny Cup generated from my own dataset—developed with computer science students by modifying the Stable Diffusion API. These forms originate from AI-generated images that are re-modelled through additional AI software to produce 3D printable structures. Animation is achieved using Runway, extending the work into motion. The project operates across fine arts, computer science, and additive manufacturing, exploring how machinic vision might differ from human vision. By training AI to “think outside the square,” I aim to cultivate synthetic creativity that transcends human bias. This methodology offers potential applications across architecture, bio-design, and future fabrication fields, positioning art as a critical site for developing new ways of seeing, making, and imagining.
