This image highlights one of the main aspects of well-being for young people in Indonesia: going to school with friends. I captured this image during my data collection in Indonesia last year for a project on Indonesian Indigenous children's perspectives on well-being. It shows children walking to school together, a daily journey of about 20 to 30 minutes from their homes. In the picture, a 7-year-old, was feeling unwell, so his friend, a 10-year-old, is helping him walk to school. The older child is no longer attending school since his mother passed away nearly a year ago, yet he still supported others to get to school. Participants shared the importance of this activity for their well-being.
