Cardiac cell model development time line

Figure 2 from my PhD thesis showing the time line of the development of the cellular models reviewed and developed in my thesis. The models on the left are focused on electrophysiology, those on the right on mechanical behaviour, and those down the middle are coupled electro-mechanics models. The blue text through the centre of the figure provides the progressive development of Intel microprocessors (trying to correlate the increasing detail in the models with the computational power available on the desktop).

The models in boxes were coded up in CellML and available with my thesis. Some of them are now in the Physiome Repository at: https://models.physiomeproject.org/workspace/a1/
